teammate: surf

Teammate is a social fitness app that matches people with partners who share their goals, interests, and schedules. For the campaign, I developed a visual system built around glowing “player rings” — a video-game–inspired cue that links each pair of teammates, signaling compatibility, synced energy, and the moment they connect. Across every sport, the rings serve as the anchor of the brand’s identity.

Shot in Santa Cruz, we used harsh beach sun, board texture, and rhythmic movement to convey partnership in motion. The glowing rings appear subtly under water spray, designed to feel like real and rooted in the atmosphere. I directed the shoot and executed all VFX blending to keep the rings airy and luminous.
