WORTH THE WEIGHT

Created in collaboration with Montréal jewelry designer Ila Designs, Worth the Weight is a bold beauty series built around statement pieces and sculpted, high-contrast styling. The portraits pair clean, confident makeup with heavy gold rings, bracelets, and pendants — letting each piece sit prominently against skin and shadow.

The backdrop is composed of macro close-ups of Ila’s own designs, echoing the textures and motifs worn by the model and giving the images a layered, immersive feel. Every frame is about presence: the grip of a hand, the tilt of a jawline, the weight of metal catching the light.

I photographed and retouched the full series with a focus on detail and polish, ensuring the jewelry remains the visual anchor throughout.
