I’m Sumi Shan, a multidisciplinary creative based between San Francisco and Montréal, with nearly twenty years of experience across photography, cinematography, and design. My work sits at the intersection of storytelling and strategy, helping brands, founders, and artists translate complex ideas into visual clarity and emotional connection.

Over the years, I’ve led creative direction for startups, agencies, and early-stage ventures, crafting campaigns and brand systems and identities.

Outside the studio, I move between disciplines that feed my eye and sharpen my focus: BJj, endurance and strength training, travel, and long walks (with a camera of course). Each practice teaches rhythm, patience, and restraint - lessons that find their way back into my creative work.
